Plans & Billing

EchoAI offers three public plans. Each one sets how many assistants, content items, and messages your organization gets. This page covers comparing plans, upgrading, managing billing through Stripe, and cancelling or renewing.

Content items are counted cumulatively across all assistants in the organization. Messages reset on your billing anniversary. For the full quota story — what counts as a content item, what happens when you hit a limit — see Limits & quotas.

The Free plan

Every organization starts on Free. No payment method is required. You get 1 assistant, 75 content items, and 75 visitor messages per month. All features are available — chat, lead capture, contracts, integrations, embedding. The Free plan cannot be cancelled; it is the default tier you return to if you cancel a paid plan.

Upgrading your plan

  1. Go to the Plan page (Organization Switcher > Plan).
  2. Click Upgrade on the plan you want.
  3. You're redirected to a Stripe checkout page.
  4. Enter your payment details and confirm.
  5. You're returned to a success screen, and your plan is upgraded immediately. New limits take effect right away.
Confirmation email
After a successful upgrade you receive a confirmation email with your new plan and the next billing date. If you close the Stripe page or cancel before paying, you land back on the Plan page unchanged — nothing is charged.

Managing billing

Click Manage Billing on the Plan page to open the Stripe customer portal. From there you can:

  • View and download invoices.
  • Update your payment method.
  • View your billing history.

Cancelling and renewing

  1. Go to the Plan page.
  2. Click Cancel on your current plan.
  3. Your subscription is set to cancel at the end of the current billing period.
  4. You keep full access until the period ends.
  5. After cancellation, you're moved to the Free plan.

Changed your mind? Click Renew before the period ends to reactivate — your plan continues uninterrupted.

Failed payments

If a renewal payment fails — an expired card, insufficient funds — your subscription enters a past-due state. You keep access during a short grace window while Stripe retries the charge.

  • Open Manage Billing and update your payment method so the next retry succeeds.
  • If the payment keeps failing through the retry window, the subscription is cancelled and the organization drops to the Free plan.
  • Once payment succeeds, full access and your paid limits are restored automatically.
Keep your card current
Update your card before it expires to avoid an interruption. You can check and replace your payment method any time in the Stripe customer portal.
