Limits & Quotas

Every plan sets three limits: how many assistants you can create, how many content items your knowledge bases can hold, and how many messages visitors can send each billing period. This page is the single source of truth for how each one is counted, when it resets, and what happens when you reach the cap.

There is currently no team-member seat cap on any plan — invite as many admins and members as you need. See Team & roles.

Assistant quota

Your plan determines how many assistants you can create: 1 on Free, 1 on Essential, 5 on Pro. This is a ceiling, not a monthly allowance.

  • Deleted assistants don't count toward the limit — delete one to free a slot.
  • When you reach the cap, you can't create new assistants until you upgrade. Existing assistants keep working normally.
  • Check your current count on the Plan page (Organization Switcher > Plan).

Content quota

The content limit is a cumulative cap on the total number of content items across all assistants in the organization. It does not reset on a schedule — the only way to free space is to delete content you no longer need.

What counts as one content item

Each of these is a single content item against your quota:

  • One crawled or synced subpage (each page of a website / Framer / WordPress sync).
  • One PDF (up to 50 pages).
  • One YouTube video (its transcript).
  • One text entry.
  • One URL upload.

Message quota

The message limit counts visitor messages sent to your assistants during the current billing period: 75 on Free, 150 on Essential, 1,000 on Pro.

  • The counter resets on your billing anniversary — the same day each period your subscription renews.
  • Only visitor messages count toward the limit; your own dashboard test chats and admin replies don't draw it down the same way.
  • When the limit is reached, the chat tells visitors it's temporarily unavailable until the next reset — or until you upgrade.

Tracking your usage

Open the Plan page (Organization Switcher > Plan). All available plans are shown in a grid. For your active plan, usage bars show how much of each limit you've used, colour-coded:

Bar colourMeaning
GreenNormal usage.
YellowWarning — 75%+ used.
RedCritical — 90%+ used.

The plan card also shows your next billing date and whether the plan is set to cancel at the end of the period.

What happens when you hit a limit

Limit reachedWhat happens
AssistantsYou cannot create new assistants. Existing assistants continue to work normally. Delete one or upgrade to add more.
Content itemsYou cannot upload or add new content. Existing content stays available. Delete unused content or upgrade to free space.
Messages / periodVisitors see a message that the chat is temporarily unavailable. The counter resets on your billing anniversary; upgrade for a higher allowance now.

To resolve any limit, upgrade your plan or remove unused resources.
